AUSTIN
4/1 Colorado River Ramble | 7:30am – 2pm
3601 Lake Austin Blvd. 
Join us for the Colorado River Ramble, Austin’s signature canoe, kayak and stand up paddle race on Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin benefiting the Colorado River Foundation. Three competitions will be held: a 5-mile recreational, 10-mile sport race, 1.5 and 5 mile stand-up paddle race as well as a 1.5- mile Family Fun Paddle. Race is open to all levels.
4/1 Family Water Festival | 10am – 3pm
3601 Lake Austin Blvd. 
Join us for a fun, FREE day of learning about the Colorado River and the lakes of Austin. Over 40 kids’ activities include science experiments, fishing and kayak clinics, reptile and river bug shows, arts and crafts, games, and much more. Presentations will teach about the river ecosystem, backyard composting and water science. This year’s event will also include educational door prizes, ‘green’ vendors, and live music provided by local musicians on the beautiful grounds of the Wilkerson Center.
4/1 Zilker Garden Festival | 10:00a

A family-friendly event, the garden festival offers something for everyone: The annual Flower Show in the Garden Center, featuring judged designs and an array of horticultural specimens; Live music from the Soundstage in the Rose Garden with a variety of musical offerings both afternoons; Gardening Talks under the big, white tent next to the Garden Center where novice and seasoned gardeners will enjoy talks from local gardening experts; The always fun and interactive Kids’ Corner in the Rose Garden where kids can build a birdhouse, have their faces painted, make dinosaur masks and butterfly wings; Enjoy tasty food offerings at the Food Court in the Oak Grove on the Escarpment Trail
4/1 Girl Scouts of Central Texas Museum Exhibition | 10 am
George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center presents “Girl Scouts of Central Texas Museum Exhibition”. Celebrating 100 years of Girl Scouting, the collection showcases early photography, artifacts, documents, and highlights of influential African American Girl Scout Leaders. Exhibit dates March 6 – April 21. Free.
4/3 Spring Cleaning in the Park, Bat-Watching Prep
9am – 12pm

Radisson Hotel: 111 East Cesar Chavez Street at Congress
In an effort to assist the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department a Spring Cleaning around the Congress Avenue Bridge east to the Brazos Cul de Sac.  A BBQ lunch will follow the clean-up effort.
4/7 ASH Dash 5K Bunny Run 8:00a to 10:00a
at Austin State Hospital Campus, Austin, TX
Follow the Easter Bunny as you race, run, or walk for mental health. Runners will enjoy a double loop course in beautiful historic Hyde Park on the Austin State Hospital grounds. An Easter egg hunt will take place immediately following the race for all participants. Proceeds benefit Austin State Hospital children and adults facing obstacles with mental illness.
4/7 Mighty Texas Dog Walk | 9:00a to 2:00p

Mighty Texas Dog Walk Gets Hairy!

4/14 Lone Star Crawfish Festival featuring Robert Earl Keen & the Damn Quails | 6:30p to 11:30p
at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q 
Join Robert Earl Keen and the Damn Quails in celebrating good food, beer and “all-you-can-eat” crawfish in Austin Texas at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q during the annual Crawfish Boil. We’ll be partying Cajun-style with a little Texas Country right in your backyard. Presented by Phi Delta Theta, all proceeds from the event will go towards the Busby Foundation as they support Central Texas families affected by ALS.
4/15 All Chocolate Affair | 4:00p to 6:00p
at George Washington Carver Museum
 
Eating chocolate AND helping a good cause. Sample a variety of chocolate savory and sweet delicacies showcasing the Travis Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, CinnaMan Cheesecakes, and featuring demonstrations by Hyatt Executive Chef Paul French.
Proceeds benefit Broadcast Your Love, a non-profit using communication-related programming to encourage health and wellness was started in honor of former television journalist, Thea Williams-Douglas who lost her battle with breast cancer.
4/20 Austin Reggae Festival 10:00a
at Auditorium Shores, Austin, TX
Three days of incredible dub music plus premium people watching at one of Austin’s finest outdoor venues. Talent includes Collie Buddz,. Tidal Waves, Black Gandhi and Dubtonic Kru. Proceeds benefit the Capital Area Food Bank, thereby feeding thousands of hungry Central Texas citizens. See you April 20-22 at Auditorium Shores.
4/21 Austin Nature Day | 1-5PM
Austin Nature & Science Center, 301 Nature Center Drive 
Celebrate nature just in time for Earth Day! Bring the whole family to this fun, outdoor event. Enjoy a guided hike on the Zilker Preserve while learning about indigenous and invasive species. Receive tips on how to attract native wildlife to your backyard. Meet local Central Texas animals during exciting hands-on presentations.  Fee: Free
4/25 Moontower Comedy & Oddity Festival | 7:00p
at Paramount Theatre, Austin, TX

Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival presented by the Paramount Theatre brings to Austin, TX some of the funniest, wittiest and oddest world-class comics from around the globe. This marathon of side-splitting nights throughout the city is slated to bring over 60 comedians doing everything from stand-up and sketch to improv and musical comedy.
4/28 Heart O’ Texas Orchid Society’s 41st Annual Show & Sale

A very, very short, fun and family-oriented event to raise “fun” and funds for Barton Springs Pool. Treeathletes will swim ACROSS Barton Springs Pool, bike a short loop around Zilker Park, and then run a short course around the Polo Fields.

A beautiful ride for a great cause! Join us at the Austin Autism Society Bike Ride, Sunday April 1st at Berry Springs Park in Georgetown. 62, 42, 24, and 9 mile bike routes as well as a Family Ride/Walk on a paved path perfect for little cyclists.
Registration includes fully supported ride, t-shirt, and lunch at the park.

4/28 Red Poppy Bike Ride | 8am – 3pm
Enjoy a spring bike ride on beautiful country roads through picturesque Williamson County. After the ride, enjoy the Red Poppy Festival in historic downtown Georgetown. The ride benefits the SERTOMA scholarship program for Georgetown ISD as well as the Williamson County Childrens’ Advocacy Center (WCCAC) and bicycle safety and advocacy for children and adults. Choose from the 14 mi. (Family Circle), 30 mi., 45 mi. or 62 mi. routes.
