New Home Construction: Texas Leads the Way

According to the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M, three of the Metropolitan Statistical Areas in Texas are among the nation’s strongest when it comes to residential construction activity in terms of the value of private housing projects authorized last year

Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown had $4.17 billion in new residential projects in 2010, more than any other U.S. city.

 

Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington came in second with $3.87 billion.

Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos made the top 10 list at $1.29 billion in residential projects last year.
