National Flood Insurance Program

The National Association of Realtors estimates that 1,300 sales a day could stall if the National Flood Insurance Program expires on September 30. On July 12, 2011 the U.S. House of Representatives passed a 5-year reauthorization of the NFIP.  Now we need for the Senate to repeat that process. Maintaining available and affordable flood insurance for all homeowners who need it is vital to keeping the market running smoothly. Over 20,000 communities nationwide depend on this program to in order to buy and sell real estate. Those wanting to help can tell their Senator to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program.
